Building Futures Through Supportive Housing

Providing safe housing, life skills training, and community support for Houston's foster youth.

THE PIVOT PAD STORY

CHANGING LIVES TOGETHER

One Young Woman at a Time

Every year, thousands of young women age out of the foster care system, often without the family support, resources, or skills needed to thrive independently. The Pivot Pad exists to change that narrative. We provide transitional housing in Houston for young women ages 18-22, combining safe, affordable housing with comprehensive life skills programming, career development support, and a nurturing community. Our holistic approach addresses not just housing needs, but the emotional, educational, and practical support required for lasting success and personal transformation.

We believe every young woman deserves the opportunity to reach her full potential, regardless of her past circumstances. Through individualized support, mentorship, and comprehensive programming, we help residents build the skills and confidence needed to create thriving, independent futures.

Every young woman who walks through our doors deserves to know she is valued, capable, and worthy of support. The Pivot Pad exists to provide that support during one of life's most critical transitions—helping residents move from uncertainty to empowerment.

Founded on the belief that every young person deserves a strong start to adulthood, The Pivot Pad addresses the critical gap in support services for young women aging out of Houston’s foster care system. Our comprehensive program includes safe housing, weekly life skills workshops covering financial literacy to job readiness, mental health support, educational guidance, career coaching, and connections to community resources. We maintain partnerships with Houston-area organizations including Workforce Solutions, Houston Community College, Legacy Community Health, and local employers to ensure residents have access to opportunities that support their success. Our trauma-informed approach recognizes the unique challenges faced by foster youth and creates an environment where healing and growth can occur.
